Dnepropetrovsk space museum is located in The National Aerospace Educational Center of Ukrainian Youth that was established by the Decree issued by L.D. Kuchma, the President of Ukraine, on the initiative of the National Space agency of Ukraine and “Suzir’ya” Ukrainian Youth Aerociation.
This educational and exhibition complex will make an unforgettable impression on you. You will be awestruck by the view of big military rockets and satellites. Here you can see:
- Gallery of portraits of prominent persons who were at the beginnings of space development , and leading experts of Yuzhnoe Design Office and Yuzhmash Plant, etc.;
- Full-scale models of spacecrafts from the first vehicles to unique multifunctional spaceships, intended for the Earth monitoring, which were produced at Yuzhmash PA and developed by Yuzhnoye Design Office;
- Military missile models;
- Fragments and parts of rocket-and-space equipment;
- Expositions devoted to life and activity of M.K. Yangel, the Chief Designer of Yuzhnoe Design Office, and A.D. Makarov, the General Director of Yuzhny Machine-building Plant Production Incorporation.
Numerous International and All-Ukrainian conferences, symposiums, meetings and presentations are held within this exhibition complex annually. General and thematic lectures are given for students studying at the Center, and for visitors of the museum complex. Lectures and excursions on space-related subjects are conducted by highly skilled experts and scientists.
Products manufactured at Yuzhny Machine-building Plant according to designs of Yuzhnoye State Design Office, and versatile anti-aircraft missiles are represented in full scale on the esplanade of the exhibition complex.
A great number of students, schoolchildren, not to mention adults and guests from CIS and foreign countries, are visiting the exhibition complex every year.
